Keynote Speaker: Klaas Martens, certified organic farmer, New York
Klaas and his family farm 1,600 acres of certified organic crops in upstate New York, growing corn, soybeans, spelt, wheat, emmer, einkorn, rye, triticale, buckwheat, oats, barley, cabbage, dry beans, hay, and a wide range of cover crops. Both independent and university-coordinated on-farm organic research is a strong component of their farming operation.

This conference is made possible by a grant from the USDA Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program. OGRAIN is a collaborative effort of the UW-Madison/UWEX Organic and Sustainable Cropping Systems lab, UW-Madison Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems (CIAS), Farm and Industry Short Course (FISC), and Midwest Organic and Sustainable Education Service (MOSES).
