We are seeking an experienced individual who has a passion for growing food using sustainable agricultural practices. This position is responsible for all food production crops at the Center. The Crop Production Program at the Center currently grows diversified row crop vegetables, high tunnel fruiting vegetables, a diversity of tree fruit orchards and grape vineyards. All annual vegetable crops and some tree fruits are in our organic program. Other tree fruits are in a hybrid of conventional and organic pest management practices with a goal of an ecologically and economically sustainable system in mind. Farm Intern
Interns at Tillers experience work in sustainable agriculture, rural development, historical interpretation, and organizational operations. On a daily basis, interns participate in the farming activities of the season. This gives them practice in working with draft animals (oxen and horses) and using farm machinery. They plant, cultivate, and harvest a rotation of crops, and learn many associated skills, such as woodworking, blacksmithing, and gardening.

Housing and a modest stipend of $150/week is provided. Interns generally work 6 days a week, 50 hours per week, but also have the opportunity to take classes for free. Learn more.
